Mark is highly analytical and a natural problems solver with over ten years of consulting experience in Asia and China. As Managing Director of Sovereign’s China offices, he has advised more than three-hundred Fortune 500 companies and SMEs across industries on their market entry strategy development, growth strategy, partner selection, as well as other areas related to entering, growing or operating in the China market. He acts as his clients’ strategic partner and works with them to drive the process of setting the correct strategic priorities and goals.
Mark has worked with multiple companies on setting the correct course for their entry into China via e-commerce channels, and he recently wrote the e-commerce guidebook published by the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service (TCS). He is regularly invited to speak at events where he focuses on helping audiences understand what is needed to succeed in China’s e-commerce market, which included a 2 week road show in Canada in partnership with the Canadian TCS and the China Canadian Business Council (CCBC) and the Shanghai SIAL food exhibition.
